It is a book consisting of the compilation of texts read in the presence of the dying person and texts about burial methods to help him in his life beyond death. 1-Heliopolis Compilation: It was compiled from hieroglyphic inscriptions embroidered on the outer walls,rooms and some sarcophagi of the pyramids in Saqqara.It belongs to the period of the fifth and sixth dynasties.These compilations were used until the twelfth dynasties. 2-Teb Compilation: 18. 22 from the dynasty.it was compiled from hieroglyphic inscriptions written on papyrus and embroidered on sarcophagi until the dynasty.22.it was in its final form during the dynastic period. 3-Saite Compilation: 26.ve during the following dynasties,it was written on papyrus and sarcophagi using hieroglyphic, hyeralic and demotic characters.It is considered the final form of the ”Book of the dead".
