There are no marks of cutting or chipping on the blocks. Stone blocks in the form of debris also bear no traces of a specific building plan. Archaeologists say that the structure was definitely made by humans, while the lake remained underwater after it filled with water. The shape and composition of the structure indicates that it is not a natural structure, and therefore it is called a mound. Yitzhak Sun of Ben Gurion University thinks the structure is 4 thousand years old. It is noted that there are places around Lake Galilee where there are other megaliths, large stones used to create a monument or structure, and the structure has a similar feature. Around the lake, 19 kilometers away, in the north-west at the place called Khirbe Betehia, there are structures estimated to be older than 4 thousand years. The research team believes that complex and advanced construction techniques are needed to create the structure under the lake. They say that a well-organized society with economic power will only create such structures. Underwater archaeologists will soon launch extensive work to uncover the structure's purpose and features.
